Anyone need a challange?
Anyone need a challange?
I have spent hours and hours looking for a stingray for our cruise book and can only find one that is a dingbat. It isn't that great of a picture. Does anyone want to try one for me? I have no idea how to use that inkscape and just want to get my cruise book done. I don't want it intricate or cartoony, just simple. Just thought I would throw that out if someone is sooo bored that they are looking for things to do.... ha ha! Thanks, Tylynn

Re: Anyone need a challange?
that's not challenging at all. so I'm challenging YOU to dowload inkscape & do it yourself.
*google stingray clipart. look at the images--there are a few easy ones.
*read an inkscape tutorial on how to trace (I like the ones at paperthreads.com)
*download inkscape, trace it & save it as an svg, import into scal & cut.
I can trace it in less than 30 seconds. If you do it from start to finish as noted, I'm sure you could do it in under 5 minutes. That's not a lot of time!! Once you do it a few times, you too can do it in under a minute!
Give it a try--I dare you
Imagine what kind of things you can do once you figure that out!
here's a way for you to "cheat" & "make it" yourself
go to microsofts clipart page, type in stingray, dowload an image & open in inkscape & separate the parts---their clipart is already broken up into parts/pieces

Re: Anyone need a challange?
It has a learning curve. Sometimes I look back at my original files and redo them because I have learned some techniques so I can make files in about 5-10 minutes.

Re: Anyone need a challange?
I am pretty computer literate and what I don't know DH can answer, but when it comes to inkscape... I cannot even open a picture in it to work on. I have downloaded the tut's from paper thread etc and I cannot get a JPG to even open in inkscape. I have never felt so dumb when trying to follow a simple tutorial..

Thanks! I couldn't find them in the forums -- but it's asking me to register so maybe that's why.
