Post by leokowal »

Hey everyone! We just posted this video, this is a must see if you didn't know that SCAL has a built in SVG preview feature! It's like Adobe Bridge!

I noticed in this latest version 2.013 we could do that and I love it...

Great video, Leo! Very informative and so helpful. Based upon how slow SCAL currently runs, does using this feature bog down the
program more? Has anyone noticed if there is any impact? Any feedback in this area would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Cathy

If you currently have your SVG files stored on your computer it shouldn't slow down SCAL. I have Windows 7 and SCAL is running great. Not slow at all even with large files. I'm guessing your computer doesn't have enough power or free memory to run SCAL or that you have a lot of programs running in the background that are taking power away from SCAL. Try turning off any programs that you don't need before you load and run SCAL. That will free up power for SCAL to run better.

Also, if you have too many fonts installed on your computer it can cause SCAL to run slow.

Can anyone help. I open the Personal Library, Click Sure Cuts alot (already linked it to the file on my computer), goes blank. The hourglass pops up, then the "encountered problem and needs to close...tell Microsoft this error" and it sends the error in. So obviously don't get to use this feature? Any suggestions?

Be sure that you have the latest version of SCAL installed (2.013) and that if you have TONS of SVG files, that they are not ALL in one folder. Try categorizing them as shown in the video!

On my mac when I select svg to load into SCAL I go to my personal .svg folder and click on the folder/filename and I get a "preview" of the individual image so I know it is the one I want. I can't drag and drop as it appears you do on Win, but I do see the image. I'm on SnowLeopard.

Maybe next rev for us.
