Lily of the valley file

Post by 1BethO »

Hey Heather I found this card over on http://scrappedlives.nl/ and it sounds like you had a hand in helping create it. I was hoping someone had a similar file that they might be able to share. Or maybe some tips on how to recreate something similar?

Thanks!

Newbie

There is a Martha Stewart vector pdf here. http://www.marthastewart.com/photogalle ... readcrumbs I have't looked at it recently, but it should be much easier to create a similar card now that SCAL can cut open Paths. BTW, the MS pdf files are copyrighted and shouldn't be reposted . :)

That was going to be my next question. Cutting open the path at the base of the leaves/flower. I've figured out how to select the two nodes but how do you cut or deselect that path? Is there a SCAL tutorial I've missed or does this have to be outlined somehow in Inkscape then deselected?

Thanks again!

There isn't currently any way to cut an existing path in SCAL. You can use the drawing tool to make a new open path or use Inkscape to open a closed path. In Inkscape, with the node tool active, select two adjacent nodes and click on this button to break the path. Image

Another simple option is to draw a square so that one line of it intersects the Path where you want to open the Path. Select both the Path and the square and use Path/Cut path. Select the part that you don't want and delete it.
