Thank you again!
Vista is a pretty unstable operating system. There's a lot of bugs in the software and it seems like everytime Microsoft tries to fix the security issues, Vista gets worse.

I think that it why switching the compatibility modes to XP Service Pack 2 fixes a lot of the issues when using SCAL2.

I recently got a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 and I haven't had the problems that happened with my Sony Vaio laptop running on Vista. At least once a day my Sony would either lock up or crash when using IE8. And Vista didn't like my scanner, printer or camera. I constantly had errors with two all in one printers on the Vista machine but no problems at all using them on the Win 7 laptop.

I have a Gateway laptop running Vista with SCAL 1 and 2. SCAL 1 will only work in XP mode. SCAL 2 will not work in XP mode. I do not have any scanners or anything like that attached to this computer and I think that is why I am not running into any problems. I believe that SCAL doesn't like to compete for Com Ports.

I TOO am frustrated! I have just purchased this and haven't been able to do a thing yet. After typing a word, how do I select the word to be able to weld it? Any help is appreciated.

I also can't figure out how to just post something for myself and not reply to something posted.
Maybe it's just me.....

Thanks

I think I can help on the post part. Next to the option to post replay is a New Post options. that is where you can post new ???? or projects. Can't help on the other. Only have SCAL 1.

There are lots of tuits out there on how to learn SCAL I would suggest you do a youtube search for SCAL 2. and watch those. Some are really good.
