Hi, I finally got everything ready for the Women's Spring Tea at my church this coming Saturday. Many thanks to Heather at http://imagesbyheatherm.wordpress.com/ for the heart flourishes and also to Leslie at http://cardmkrleslie.blogspot.com for the teapot and tea cup. I hope you like how I used your designs and Thanks to all of you here on the MB for answering all my Newbie questions. The little blocks under my glass block are because I needed to use battery operated lights. Thanks again, YOU GUYS ROCK!!

These are beautiful! I'm helping to organize our mother's day dinner as well. Can I ask how many you had in attendance (or will have?) and how long did it take you to do the glasses? I would be interested in knowing also, did you take the vinyl off the glasses at the end of the evening, or did you leave it on and give them away? We are planning on having 300 in attendance and I am wondering if a simply design like this on dollar store glasses that are going to then be re-used would be a good idea. Ours is a "Fruit of Her hands" idea, so I am thinking a simple grape design (grapevines, etc, is the scheme for the evening.) Thanks for your thoughts on the whole process.

Re: My first vinyl project-Thanks to Everyone
Thanks for all of the wonderul comments. There was about 80 women in attendance, and my pink and black table got quite a bit of attention! The sock cupcakes I gave each of the ladies at my table where a big hit and my block light got a lot of nice comments and requests for nightlights!!!
Kimberlyjoy..At the tea I only had to worry about decorating one table for 8 people, so that was not so intimidating. Our church does this every year and different women volunteer to decorate one table, our women's director along with the pastor set a theme, and each person decorates her table following the theme. I used removable wall vinyl on my glasses (from the $ store) so that next year I can reuse them. The glasses don't take long to do, I just used the fill feature to cut all of the hearts at once, then I sat and watched TV while I weeded the excess vinyl off. Then I just put all the hearts on at the same time. I did this about a week before I hand washed them all. Now that it is over, I will run them thru my dishwasher to heat up the vinyl so I can just pull it off. Hope this helps.
