Inkscape font issue

Please help. I cannot use the text on inkscape because no matter what I do it goes back to one particular font. I change the font selection and then go to type and it goes back. I have even reinstalled Inkscape and it does the same thing. Any ideas? I thought it was a problem with the font, but I deleted that font and chose another one. Now it only will use that font. I can not get it to use another.

Since you haven't gotten an answer yet I will try because I think I had the same problem (although I am a novice still with inkscape). Look in the text box on the left bottom there is a box that says "set as default" click on that after you choose your font and it should let you use it. I hope this helps.

Make sure you type a letter first.. Click on the big font letter T at the top of your Inkscape toolbar.. Set the font you want and the size and then at the bottom of that open window click set as default or apply...
