HELP PLS CUTTING TEXT

Have had a lot of trouble cutting Pristina text 1" (long letters actually 1 1/4")(short are 1") welded phrase...first Bazill paper with white core (left lots white torn parts), then textured card stock at least 5 times trying different things
(speed med and low and minimum) pressure 4-5-6, new blade (improved-not perfect).

Best bet yet is max pressure, min speed, 6 blade depth, new blade combo.

Still have to try to cut out with exacto knife all little parts that won't come off main paper.

Does anyone have input on this subject--ie certain fonts don't cut well so small (or at all?)
Maybe use multi-cut????
How about issue of white core--don't use for cutting? (hope not true-have lots).

I have used Pristina with no problem. I like to use the 60 degree blades for cutting paper, they tend to tear less on corners. I have used markers to touch up small areas on white core papers, blending the markers if necessary. HTH

I am not sure what fonts cut better than others maybe others can help you out with that.

But.......anything white core cuts terrible. Either it tears or the imperfections show up like someone is shinning a spot light. I gave all my white core away.

Thx for help (and understanding re that blasted white core paper). More questions:
Heather-what does the 60 degree blade look like? I have a set with no ids to blades, and did try internet--no luck...Do you usually need to use your blade to extricate?
And for all the anti-white core people--when you buy it, if it doesn't say it has a white core-as some of bazill's pads do, how do you know if it has without bending before buying???

Do a search for Roland 60 degree blades in the search bar but ebay is a decent source. If the card stock pad doesn't say "white core" you can usually look at the piece of paper or pad from the side and and see the white.

greg--thank you--did search, hard to see little pictures, so couple questions: Do exacto blades come size 60 (can't make degree mark-today not my day)--or do you need to buy Roland, and a Roland handle???

Also, did help some using new mat which held paper down tighter.

The Cricut blades are the same as Roland blades. My understanding is that the 45 degree blades are the same as the standard Cricut blade and that the 60 degree are comparable to the deep cut blade. You don't need to buy anything to hold them, they go right into your blade housing like a Cricut blade.

OHHHHHH! Who'd a thunk? That is a fascinating piece of info--do have the deep cut housing/blades, and had been disappointed in performance on cardboard (will try again now that I upgraded to Expression and can multi-cut...)-How nice if it would do what the ordinary blade IS SUPPOSED TO DO!!!!

I would just like to comment on the white core paper. I don't use it very often to cut letters, but when I do, I sand the edges. It really makes the letters pop especially if they're matted on a darker background.
