I would love if the "tools" box could just be buttons added to the tool bar on top. Also, I'd like to maximize the whole window and have the scroll bar immediately to the right of the mat. This way the shapes, layers, and fonts boxes would still be on the whole window but the scroll would be more conveniently placed. As much as I love the program, which I do, I'm not loving the whole set up with all the separate movable windows. I always seem to lose the tools box under something. But I DO love it. I'm having a ball. Thanks for a great program. I'm not able to afford the cartridges so it's great to make my own designs.

If your window isn't maximized when you open it .. Right click on the SCAL folder and then click on properties check the run option and see if it's set to maximized.. if not set it to maximized and it will open that way everytime...
Also in the toolbar at the top if you click on window and workspace you can save the way you have your scal set up and it will open that way every time..
