Help needed please ...

Post by OnTheScrapHeap »

Hi .. not been on here for a long time. Also, haven't used my cricut machine for a long time either ... probably about a year or so ...

What I want to know is ... should I have updated SCAL by now ?? I haven't done anything to it since I first got it in ... I think July 08 lol

I will actually check that date, but I think it's right.

I think I might be gonna post a lot of ''helps'' lol ... I can't remember how to use anything ROFL !!

Thanks. Sue

There have been quite a few update to SCAL since its release and you would have to check the website to see if there are any download links for the original version. Now there is a 2.0 which incurs a cost to upgrade. I, personally, have not upgraded because I design using INK and only cut using SCAL. However, anything created in SCAL2 can't be opened in SCAL, which is a handicap. SCAL2 allows for tracing and many of the task done in INK so people on the board are not creating .svg files only .scut and I can't open the newer one so I just say

"C'est la Vie "

To upgrade or not is a personal choice...you have to decide what you want to do and do you need SCAL2 to do it and if you need help with the tech issues, we are here.

After checking, the updates for SCAL1 are still available and the link is http://www.craftedge.com/download/download1.html
You can check your version of SCAL by clicking on Help>About in SCAL. if you have the last 1.-- version and you are not trying to get 2.--, then there is no reason to upgrade.
