I've seen little 2 oz bottles of Fabric Paint Medium in the craft section of our small Wal-Mart. It's included in those big racks of cheap 2 oz craft acrylic paints. I think it cost like $2-$2.50 and you just mix it with paint (I'm thinking 50-50) and once you're done painting, heat set it (however the directions say). I haven't done any yet, I'm a true procrastinator-- but I hope to soon!Nicip wrote:What medium are you mixing with your paint?
Where can I get it?
Thanks

You can also purchase it at Michaels which is where I purchased mine...
Freezer wrap works a lot better than wax paper as it adheres to the fabric better.. Wax paper tends to slip and also leaves a waxy film...

Re: Wondering about making T-shirts
Has anyone tried to make a freezer paper stencil and use it on a tank top? I've only seen t-shirts mentioned and I was curious about doing tank top but I know the fabric is much stretcher (is that even a word???). Does it effect how much paint to use, etc?

Nicole it is a fabric paint medium and it can be purchased at Micheals. Last time I checked my Joanns didn't have it.

It doesn't have to be americana - the one I have downstairs is made by Plaid I believe...

On tank tops or any ribbed shirt, I like to use Jones Tones paint. They make a specific one for stretchy shirts and fabrics. Not sure if you can buy it in stores, but you can order it from Dharma Trading.
