I have a REALLY stupid question

Post by snowdrop »

OK, so I've been on the fence for a while, but when I saw the discount, I figured that was a sign that it was time I finally get on board! I haven't cut anything yet, but I've been playing around with the program. Here's my really stupid question. It seems like I can't just type out the letters I want to use on the computer keyboard. Instead, I have to click on each letter in the font box in the software for it to show up. Is that just the way the program works? It's slower to do it that way, so I want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong.

Thanks!

Once you select the font, size (if needed), and click on the SCAL mat, you should be able to type in the word.

I knew it was a stupid question. ;) I wasn't clicking on the mat. I just tried that, and now it works. Thanks! BTW, the very first thing I cut out was one of the svgs you posted. So exciting. :)

Hope it was easy to work with. Some of the more complex designs can be time consuming if you don't separate them in Inkscape first.

I want to thank you for the information about clicking on the mat and then typing, I hadn't been able to get that to work either, until I read this thread.

I don't even have my machine yet, it's to be delivered tomorrow, but I'm learning all I can about this program and the machine until it arrives.
