I am not sure if this has been asked before...I couldn't find anything on the board
Is there a way to weld a svg inside a shape? I am trying to make a border of animals on the inside of a 4x6 rectangle. I would like them to be welded to the inside frame of the 4x6 Rectangle...
I hope I explaIned this clearly and someone can help me...
If you are using scal just place the animals draw a rectangle and then place the animals in side where you want them cut.... Your cricut will cut them out exactly as shown...
Thanks for responding....
I am trying to make them part of the frame (like a border along the bottom inside of the frame) ....but when I put them on the lower portion of the frame it cuts the whole animal even the part of the animal that is overlapping the frame. I was wondering if there is a way to "weld" them like you can with text?
Okay.. what I do in an instance such is that is I place whatever i want to create a border from.. Let's say a row of penguins.. What I do is line those penguins up even in a row and then hit path/union to keep then group together..
I draw a square in inkscape and draw a second one a bit bigger than the first.. I take the smaller square and I take my grouped penquins and place them on the lower edge of the square.. then I click both the group of penguins and square and click on path difference.. it will make a cutout in the square of your images.. Then place the square with the images and center it in your larger square and hit path/differences again. There you have your frame... I hope this wasn't too complicated to understand..I'm not good at giving clear directions... I'm hoping heather or someone jumps in her for a easier method for you
You need to start with either an svg or a dingbat of the frame. Then you can weld the inside pieces to the frame in SCAL. If you are comfortable with Inkscape, it is just as easy to do this there, if not, tell us what inner and outer dimensions you want on the frame, and if you want the corners rounded, and someone will make an svg for you.
