Help with school logo...

I need help with a school logo...I am making a block for our coach and am having trouble with our logo.
When I try and bring it into Inkscape and "trace bitmap" it becomes distorted. it is also distorted when I
try to "trace image" in SCAL. Can someone tell me what I may be doing wrong or help me convert it. I really
just need the hawk part....a picture of the logo can be found at http://legendsofthefall.us/index_files/image4000.jpg

Donna,
The picture that you posted is very small, thus a low resolution file. Only pictures with a high resolution trace well. If you can get a better picture with a digital camera or maybe scanning a book cover or something, you will have better results tracing the file.
