Font Shadowing

Post by KristiM »

Was wondering if anyone else has trouble when shadowing or blackout/shadowing fonts. I have SCAL 1. I will put in the words I want to cut, then when I try to shadow or blackout/shadow it seems like one of the letters will partially disappear, usually either the first or last letter in the line. This used to happen only with certain fonts but it seems like it is happening with most all of them now. Any ideas or suggestions. Thanks for your help.

If you mean that the shadow isn't giving the letter enough space, I separate the letters just a little bit before I apply the shadow. Some fonts work well doing this but others do not. I can't remember about SCAL1 but SCAL2 has a button that allows you to stretch out the space between the letters.

Try a smaller number on the shadow. That usually helps.

If you lower the # of the shadow size it will help with this problem.

Thanks for your help on this. The first time this suggestion was made, I did not understand what number you were talking about. Today I ran across this old post, and went back to research what "number" you were talking about. Had never noticed the number before and still do not know what it is for, but it does work to lower it. For those of you that don't know what number we are talking about, it is located in the Properties box next to the box where you mark what type of cut you want, regular, shadow, etc. I lowered it to 1 and it worked great.
