When I download a font it comes up on my desk top zipped. I do the extraction and then a new icon comes up with the unzipped font. Why isn't it downloading as a Tt font onto my desktop in the first place like it shows on the scrappingtable.com example?
Then I open my Windows font program and drag the unzipped icon into it and it says it can't find that font. I know it is there because when I click on the unzipped icon on my desk top it opens up the font as a Tt font and the font is definately there. I tried dragging that Tt icon into my Windows font program and it acts like it processed but then I can't find the font in there.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help needed downloading fonts
Try Right clicking on the font that you unzipped. If you are in Vista, you should have an option to install.

Thanks. I have XP and don't see that option. It has "send to" but the font program is not an option on the list that comes up.

When dealing with zip files you have to be able to unzip the file so you can access the file inside the zip, (this would be your ttf). Most oem software tthat comes with your computer has a built in way to unzip. Saying that you need to find the file and and double left click to open the zip file and get the font and save the ttf to a folder ( I do not use the windows font folder but have build one that says Grammysfonts. Now depending on which windows you have makes a difference in what comes next. Here is the url for installing of the font for XP

Hope this helps
As much as I hate Vista I do love the right click on the ttf to install. Will be getting my Windows 7 soon

I love this option with Vista. They should have thought of this a long time ago. Installing fonts onto my Mac has been this easy for about 10 years now.GrammyKrausse wrote:As much as I hate Vista I do love the right click on the ttf to install. Will be getting my Windows 7 soon
