SCAL 2 is freezing @ checking mat on a MAC 10.6

Hi I'm new to SCAL. I just downloaded the trial software and it freezes at checking mat when I try to cut. I have a mac 10.6.1. Does anyone else run into this problem? Is the licensed version different from the trial?

The licensed copy has been reported to have more problems than the trial so far, and as far as I can tell craftedge is ignoring the complaints. I bought the windows version because it doesn't sound like they bothered to test the mac version, and I was not going to be happy about running buggy software for the next year while craftedge decides whether they should fix their product or not.
