Help Converting downloaded xmls

Post by Cricut Bill »

All of the svg files I try to download from these forums come up as .xml files. Can anyone let me know how to convert or download them correctly? I use a Mac with Snow Leopard.

Thanks,
Bill

It is really annoying isn't it. Some have ychat as the extension. All I have to do on my Mac is DELETE the extra extension (xlm, ychat etc) I get asked If I want to use .svg and say yes. then I have an .svg file. I have no idea if this works with Windows but someone will come along sometime and answer for Windows.

Thanks for the info. I was just coming back to say that I found out that the downloads just added the new .xml extension and if you just delete that and leave .svg they work fine. An odd quirk on the downloading, but love the quick Mac fix.

Thanks again for the quick response.

That one isn't limited to Mac users. Watch the Save dialog box. I know with Windows and the four different browsers I have tried that under the file name there is a drop down box with file types. Either choose All Files or Scalable Vector Graphic and it usually leaves the extension alone, though not always. If necessary, just do as Susan said and change the extension back to svg. HTH
