Black Friday Stories - Was Wal*Mart add a scam?

My daughter is a manager of a Walmart 45 minutes from here...her boyfriend works at another walmart....my husband went to the Walmart in a different town...he got me the expression...my daughters store sold out of everything but her boyfriends hadn't....daughter also send the got another pallet of the Cricuts last night...my husband said her got one of the last ones in that store...so i dont think there was a scam....but some may of got them late...

I was at Wal-mart in my home town tonight and they had two left. Last year I was told they sold out of them in 10 minutes. The Wal-mart in Gaylord where I bought mine sold all of theirs this year and last year they had some leftover on Saturday. You never know how they are going to sell in different areas of the country.

I live in Wisconsin,and our laws prevent stores from selling under cost,so our Walmarts
sold the Cricuts for $199.I was one of about 25 people waiting for them at 5am. I got a
red one.My SCAL2 came in the mail the same day,so I've been busy playing with it.I have
a 36" cutter that I just started using again after 3 years,but the Cricut with SCAL is a lot
easier to use.It will get most of my time.Small jobs are a lot faster with it too.

I live in central AR and got to my WM at 3:30 a.m. on Friday. There were 8 other folks already waiting and by 5:00 a.m. there were 14. Our WM only got 16 E's, by the time I left the store they were gone. It was a fun experience hanging around with a group of Cricut lovers! I got the first one off the pallet because I was ok with black and everyone else wanted a color!

I also took a Black one because that is the color I wanted, but everybody else wanted a colored machine and the store here in town, the two machines that didn't sell were Black.

I would guess my WM got about 16 E's (one pallet). And they were all gone by 6:15am.

I was able to snag the paper dolls cart... which I told myself I needed, because clothes for them with SCAL are too difficult to create

And WM only had about 4 carts left.


Then I went to Joann's to get the Baby Bug for $75 as a group gift to a family of 3 teenagers. I know they will LOVE my gift! and I now know what to get them for the next few years for birthdays and such! <carts! as I know they can't keep their computer running and virus free long enough to figure out SCAL>

We're in North Texas, and went late in the afternoon for the Expression... There were 3 on the shelf, one black, and two white. A girl and her mother got the black one, and my husband grabbed a white one. We found out at the checkstand, that the white ones were full price... (We're not readers of small print, if that was included!) We went out, and hubby went back in, and schmoozed the craft lady. She had one stashed in the back! She gave it to him, he said he loved her, and my Cricut is here! YAY! I don't know about the cart situation!

I got off work at 4 am and went to our WM. i went straight to the craft section. there on the pallet were several E's. and carts. I got a RED one and one cart. NOW - the thing is., i had already told my DH, DS & DIL what i wanted - color and all. So if by chance they stood in line i will have 2. I didn't trust them to get the good price by standing in line . AND i am not telling them i got one so i will see if they really love me. i can always take the other back or sell it. - if i get it. (heehe)

I don't think it's a guy thing... I prefer the black one we got to the white!!!
