Here's are some links to the Basic Stud Dimensions for Lego elements.

http://nicjasno.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=653

http://www.sjbaker.org/steve/lego/dimensions.html

http://www.lugnet.com/~330/FAQ/Build/dimensions

Now all we need is some math wizard to convert these into cutable files.

I have a house full of Legos and I once made a Lego ruler for my son's Lego robotics team to hand out at competitions. I will have to see if I can dig that out. My DD is on a Lego robotics team now and she and her teammates would flip over this stuff! Great find!

My first go'round. I'm not very creative so I just copied the alligator. I'm thinking of doing a turkey for Thanksgiving - the paper would make a nice tail fanned out. I used cheap construction paper and it tore a bit. :(

The holes for the studs are 5mm at 8mm apart. A tad snug, but fits. I created a template with actual block outlines, then I removed the blocks to save for cutting.

Wait until I show my kids this creation!

I know what I will be doing this weekend! hmmmmm..... maybe I will wait to show them.... I need to get some scrapbook stuff done... and I never seem to have time as each time I sit in front of my Cricut my kids come running with what they want me create for them!

so, yeah, they may just have to wait!

I say cut out a couple sheets of this guy in different colors, hand them to the kids, and let them play. That should give you an hour or so of work time while they assemble and destroy them. :)
