How Do I?

Post by JodyP »

I have this pumpkin that I have done some work on in Inkscapes but I want to seperate the vine curly thing from the black outline so I can cut it in green like the leaves. How do I do this, I tried to add nodes but that does not seem to work. Not sure just a newbie here, I have looked at several tuts but can not find this info.

Thanks,

Jody

You need to select the 2 nodes where you want to separate the vine from the rest of the picture. If there aren't nodes where you want to do that, then add them.

Now, select both nodes by selecting one, then holding down the shift key, click on the other. Make sure they are both selected.

Now click on the icon for 'break path at selected nodes'.

Next, click on Path - Break Apart.

Click away from the image to deselect it, then click on it again and you should be able to separate the 2 pieces.

Hope this is what you wanted to know and it works for you.
