I have never had problems with blade dragging with my CDS before. When I first downloaded SCAL I didn't notice any either. Yesterday when trying to cut a design with George from CDS I had sooooo much trouble with the blade dragging, ruined the design. I did do the last update to CDS since I want to be able to use the new carts, but even then it still seemed to be working ok (on simple stuff anyway, the one I was doing yesterday was pretty complex) Any suggestions? I don't want to uninstall the CDS update because I have some of the new carts
Thanks!

Re: Blade Dragging with CDS now!
After I did the newest upgrade to CDS, I ran into a problem with SCAL cutting lines across my letters. Then I tried cutting letters using CDS, and it did the same thing. So I updated my firmware again ( I was using the baby bug) and the problem went away. Now I can cut with either software and it works fine. I wonder if this would work for you.

Which firmware did you upgrade, SCAL or CS? I don't have the problem that I know about, but I'd like to know just in case...

I upgraded CDS....I shut everything down and started it up again and now every thing seems to be working fine.

Try upgrading your cricut firmware from CDS current version. If you still have problems with dragging try cutting from CDS and see if it happens there as well. If so, I would suggest calling PC and letting them know you are having problems with CDS cutting lines in your designs. If not, I would suggest using an older version of the firmware. You should be able to do this by uninstalling the most current version and installing the older version, upgrading the cricut firmware, then update the CDS software. After updating the CDS software to the most current version don't update your cricut firmware ... may be worth a try.
Re: Blade Dragging with CDS now!
before you try (probably in vain) to contact PC CS, try just turning the blade assembly sightly in either direction. If that does not help, try changing the blade, even if you have anew blade in the machine. finally, if the dragging is occurring with patterned paper, make sure your mat is not excessively stick. Also check to make sure there are no areas on you mat where the paper is NOT sticking. those loose spots will sometimes tear. I have had each of these things cause tearing, paerticularly with lightweight patterned paper. hth
