Scanning Templates

Post by Magsw »

Hi everyone.....I've cut some templates out of card, scanned them, Imported them through inskape and saved them as a SVG file. When I try opening it up in scal it gives me an error message saying "The SVG file contains embedded images and/or fonts that will not be displayed, all images and fonts in a SVG must be converted to outlines first " ? I don't have a clue what its trying to tell me....there is not writing or any fonts on the template, can anyone help.
Many thanks

SCAL2 always warns you if a file has unconverted text or images in an svg file. If it imports with the image you want, then you don't need to worry about the message. If some of your shapes are odd, it usually means that you have shapes that haven't been converted to Path. If it imports blank, you haven't converted the image to Path. HTH

I have a tutorial on my blog here about tracing images (creating a Path) in Inkscape. If you are just tracing a silhouette, you can stop at step 5 and save as an svg.
Firstcut also has a list of tutorials by image type on her blog. HTH
