shooting star

Post by Yontz710 »

Hi all. I am wondering if someone can help me locate a shooting start file. I can do the 5 pointed start in inkscape real easy, what I can't figure out are the lines that "follow" the star, how do I do that? I want about three lines trailing the star, not all in one piece. It is a formation that my kids marching band does in their show this year and I want to cut it out and put it on the cans that I'm doing for my sons section. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would use the bezier tool to draw the lines, then use the node tool to shape them how you want them. If they are simple two node lines, set the stroke width to the size you want, then with the lines still selected, Path/Stroke to path. If they are bounded shapes you won't need to use Path/stroke to path. I have attached my attempt, but you know more on what you want. HTH
