Can anyone figure out what's happening? (ie - what I'm doing wrong??) Thanks. Evelyn
Re: Use Cricut Artwork in SCAL - NOT A HACK OR TRACE
This is one I tried with the butterfly. In Inkscape, I put pieces together that I would like to cut out of the same color. When that is imported into SCAL, not only is the image upside down but all the pieces are together - I lose the space I put between them.
If I save each part as an SVG itself, it imports upside down, and two of the files have long attachments on the right sides. It just doesn't look like the work that everyone else does.

Here is a screenshot of the whole butterfly svg imported into SCAL. It's upside down and the space between pieces is gone.

This is the butterfly in SCAL when I import each piece as a separate SVG.

Re: Use Cricut Artwork in SCAL - NOT A HACK OR TRACE
The mis-placed/mis-sized pieces are probably caused by Object/Group. Open your file in Inkscape, use Control A, look at the message bar at the bottom of the Ink window. If it says "Group" either right click and ungroup or use the menu to ungroup until the message b ar no longer lists Group.
As far as the upside down files, sometimes that just seems to happen. Either ignore it, or rotate/flip your images as necessary. Sorry I can't help more, but I haven't had this problem yet.

Maybe that's it. I did group them purposely so I didn't mess up the placement when I move them.
Let me try ungrouping and see what happens.

That seemed to do the trick. (Also not upside down.)
Thanks for your help, Heather. I appreciate all your postings. Evelyn

Hi
do you have to move the nodes all seperatley for the detail in cuts ? As when i try to select the image only the outline will select.? When i copy and paste it only a sillouette appears not the detailed image.. Where am I going wrong???? I really want to understand this but i'm a beginner with inkscape.
Thanks in advance
