I bought a disk the first time I bought SCAL. After my computer crashed, I didn't bother getting the disk out, I just downloaded it again and activated it. You could always burn your own disk.

There are some bugs, but they have already worked out some of them.

I guess that depends on the price difference. How does the free upgrade work? I sent you a PM.

I downloaded the SCAL 2.0 and have had nothing but agony over it. Every time you go into the program, I have to change the size of the board back to 12x12, and even if you don't change it a 12x12 screen will even show up and once you print it, it will only print 1/2 of your work. Opening the new or previous projects are a pain too as the items are jumbled up and not as you saved them. Even with the new projects it messes them up too. When you try to move an item, it takes several times to highlight before you it will move. I am planning to reinstall the previous version until the glitches are worked out....Is nobody else having this problem??
I have sent a letter to Craft Edge to hold a $30 credit until they get it fixed or refund my money.

Not sure why you would have uninstalled the version 1.0, I have both and they both run with no need to delete the earlier version. This new version is not without its bugs but there has already been an update to the update. Have you downloaded version 2.001 yet? This will fix some of the issues and I am sure they are working on the rest as we speak. I think we just need to give it some time.

I haven't had any issues opening a previous project except for the size, none of them have been jumbled up so I am not sure what you are experiencing there.

What BS, I purchased on June 20th... MOST!!! Reputable software companies have a upgrade guarantee closer to a year. I normally do not mind purchasing upgrades If I have had the product for a while and proves its worth. $30 is way too much for a upgrade with only minimal new features. I hardly view this as a major point release. Oh well, I will stick with the current version it works perfectly for fonts and welds.

Theres FAR more than minimal changes! The changes are worth far more than $30 once a few bugs are ironed out we are talking what 1 cartridge to be able to cut unlimited svgs? :D

NurseMel wrote:No offence to anyone...but for those that are saying it's not fair offering a limited time on the $30 increase because of the bugs...think about this...Todd will now do updates for SCAL 2 just like he did for SCAL 1 to work out the bugs. SCAL 1 ended up going to version 1.016 that is 15 updates people!! The bugs will be worked out, so if you want the upgrade, buy it now and just continue to use SCAL 1 until the bugs are ironed out and then go and update to the latest version...which will be free!!

Every company makes you pay for upGRADES!! Be fair about this, obviously a lot of work has gone into the Upgrading of SCAL to Version 2, and I for one am happy to pay for it. No other company offers you a discounted price, nor do they offer those who have recently bought it an upgrade for free..NONE of them do. And I can assure you that when PC bring out the UPGRADED version of CDS it will cost you more than the original version of CDS did also, with NO DISCOUNTS. Right now, they have just been updated the first version, exactly the same way that Todd has been updating SCAL 1 for us.

For now you still have a choice, SCAL 1 is a great program so if you don't want to pay for SCAL 2 then you can continue using SCAL 1. If you want more, then you pay for it!! SCAL 2 does so much more and is more than worth the $30 for the upgrade.

Please think about what you say here, not sure if Todd reads this, but heck, not all of us want him to think that we are ungrateful for his hard work.

THANKS TODD!!!!
Really???? Most companies offer discounted upgrade prices.. Its not the $30, its the length of time June 22nd is pathetic for a software companies... When there are major upgrades most companies announce them way in advanced and give a release date. Anyone who purchased this in the last 90 days would have just waited and purchased 2.0... Craftedge made the wrong choice, that speak levels of the type of company they are..

Once the bugs are worked out??? Sounds like a beta program to me.. Why pay $30 to be a beta tester

I consider this an inexpensive software for what it gives us and even with the $30 upgrade, it's still an inexpensive software. I purchased SCAL on June 21 and I was more than willing to pay the upgrade to get all those new features and I'm sure updates in the future.
