outline broken

Post by Rebecca McConnell »

When I traced this tree, it had broken lines. How can I fix this? TIA, Rebecca

The easiest way is to use the node tool to drag the lines or nodes so that the lines overlap. Then use Path/Union to join them.

If you only want a silhouette you could also use one of the shapes to fill in the gap, select both the shape and the original object, then Path/Union.

Hi, I downloaded your beautiful tree and instead of tracing bitmap using the "brightness cutoff" I used "edge detection". That worked much better for getting all the lines. I did have double lines so I did a "break apart" and was able to drag one layer off and VIOLA a perfect cutable tree.

I don't have SCAL2 so I don't know what you would do if you were using it. Perhaps one day Todd will have time to do a MAC version!

Hope this works for you.

Love the tree.

Heather and Susann, thanks for the suggestions. I got it to work using the edge detection. Rebecca
