Making a font library (2.0)

Post by kbhine »

Sorry, I am new to this. I have been watching You Tube after You Tube, trying to figure out how to get the fonts that are on my windows xp computer into my Sure Cuts Alot file. I am assuming that I have to start a library using the SCAL lib it up. The problem is - whenever I follow the directions for getting them into the library itself, nothing happens. It just stays blank. I've also noticed that on the older version there seems to be a reload button, which I am not finding on the newer program.

Would appreicate any help. If I am going about this all wrong, please give a yell...

If you have a font that is correctly installed in your windows file folder it should auto show up in your font library in Scal. There are programs out there to help manage fonts and at one time used one but it really isn't necessary.

I honestly wouldnt use LibitUp it slows down SCAL loading and really isnt neccessary.
SCAL2 should be viewing your fonts in your windows/fonts directory if you are planning to use 100s of fonts install a Font Manager like FontXplorer :D

The reload/refresh button for the fonts is there on the new version, it is under the drop down box for the fonts, next to the "I" button.

Your fonts should be automatically loaded into SCAL2 once they are installed in your font folder. Make sure the font has been successfully installed in your font folder first. Sometimes, not often, I noticed that I installed a new font, but it wasn't showing in my font folder for some reason. I would just install it again, replacing it over the first one I supposedly installed and then I could see it in my folder.

You should not need to create a special library or use LIB IT UP to install fonts.

Also, make sure the font type is correct, SCAL uses TRUETYPE fonts.

I was lost also. Then I clicked on the T in the tool bar and the font library appeared miraculously!
