Shared Christmas Files Help

Post by CricutLady »

I found a file shared under Holidays I would like to cut. I can't seem to figure out how! LOL It is the Season's file and there are two cut out in the file. I want to cut the one in the bottom right with the snowflakes. How do I go about deleting the Seasons Greeting in the top left of the file? I know i'm just missing something very simple!
Can someone please help me. I want to cut it and use as a stencil for a plate to etch. I'm hoping it will work for that.
TIA

Since I can't see the file I'm gong to guess that it is an .svg file created in Inkscape. If that is so then you would have to go into Inkscape if you have it and copy the image you want into a new page and save it. then you import the new file and you're good.

If you don't have Inkscape then what some folks do is to move the two images into a position on the mat so that the image you don't want is not on the mat so it won't cut. I personally don't like this but then I have inkscape but it does work.

If you really get desperate I can or someone else here, including the original designer can separate it for you and email the new file to you.

Just write again about what you need.

So it's the bottom seasons greeting with the snowflakes you want? I have just learnt to ungroup them in my own way. I imported the svg into Inkscape and selected Object - Ungroup Each box should be surrounded by broken lines. Click away to deselect then click on the one you don't want and delete. Hope this works as I have just done it and it did work and hopefully I haven't missed a step. Just keep perserving and I'm sure you will get it.
