Letters Disappear When Adding Shadow

Post by kelsie94 »

So weird! I put a word on the mat then clicked Edit, Copy, Paste, so that I can now create a shadow of the word but when I click on "Shadow" one of the letters in the word disappears! If I click on "Normal" the letter re-appears! I thought it was perhaps because it is a little outside of the red box so I adjusted it to make sure it fit inside and it still disappears! Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it happens to me too. I made a post about this a couple of weeks ago, and got no replys on it, so I assume that nobody knows what causes it, or has an answer.

I also have this problem .... I thought it was a font issue.

I have that problem also. I use Inkscape when that happens...mine happens on .svg files imported into SCAL. Haven't done much with the fonts. My suggestion is to use Inkscape when it happens...don't know if anyone has reported it to Todd or not. I didn't cuz I just went to Inkscape and kept on working.

it has happened to me too
It is caused when there are holes in the picture
like if you had a picture font that is not solid lines all the way around it .
what i do is if there is one i really want to use i open it in a paint program and zoom in and fix the line that has the hole and then take it to inkscape and turn it to a svg

hope this helps answer your problem

Me, too. I sent Todd a note about it. He asked for the font, so he could play around with it and see what was happening. Haven't heard back as to what the problem was.

I had the same thing happen today! I was using the font Black Jack and all of the letters except the p would shaddow...the p just disappeared...I really wanted a shadow, but I didn't have time to mess with it, so I just left it witout the shadow....glad to know it isn't just me! Hopefully it wont happen on most of the stuff I cut...

I had the same problem when I used SCA the first day after I bought it. I sent an email with the font I was using and everything. It's been about two weeks and no response. The font I was using doesn't have holes. It was a beautiful solid font that welded perfectly. It happened on the shadow. Hopefully it's being worked on since the problem has been known for a while.
