Ok everyone...
I got a slice machine by MM for Christmas... Went to Michaels yesterday for a Cricut cart & discovered to my excitement that they got in the slice, cards & accessories. So I bought two cards, went to try my slice for the first time... And have been horribly, horrifically disappointed. All those great graphics & images... and the thing doesn't cut properly at all. It shreds, changes the shape of the image from what the cards show and warps it, and all scallops & edges are basically deformed, you can only cut 1/2 inch increments up to 4 inches but smaller cuts rip & don't cut properly,(2 1/2 inches or less) even "good cuts" are not clean cuts at all... I've looked online & it sounds like I am not the only person who has experienced these problems--I don't just have a lemon, & Making Memories from what I have read knows about this! Why they released it when it had such big problems is beyond me--all their other products are good quality, what a letdown this is. These things aren't cheap, Michaels was charging $200 plus getting a 12x12 mat, extra cards etc. and yet it doesn't even come close to the cuts you get with a cricut, nestabilities, sizzix, cuttlebug or any of the others... I was willing to shell out the money for the nice die cuts this is supposed to cut, but it doesn't cut them. I'm just wondering... I may have to return these cards, which is really frustrating because I wanted them so much. I'm just wondering if any of you inkscape geniuses would be willing to try & see if you can make the shapes from the slice cards into svg form. I know it's copyrighted material (and would not be able to actually be posted in these forums) & as I said, I'd be willing to pay for it if it worked... But it doesn't. I paid $54.99 for these cards so I just can't justify keeping them if they don't work... I could be getting nestabilities or expanding my cricut collection instead, and have things that actually cut without reapplying glue, re-homing the blade, having to hold the stupid thing so it doesn't move & ruin the cut even more, which only sometimes works...And then going through the aggravation only to not have it cut out well anyway. Thanks in advance...

Here is a pic of one of the cards I own... It's the wedding one, in case anyone wants to look at it. Thanks.

Re: Help!! Slice
Those look like the fonts Murray Hill and Bunny Ears to me. No need for converting if those are close enough.
Re: Help!! Slice
Thanks for your response, I will look into those fonts... But it wasn't just the fonts I was concerned about, there are a number of interesting shapes, too, on the MM cards. Since I posted, I've emailed MM about it... We've tried everything in the instruction manual & that's pretty much all I found online as a solution too... But I'm really not terribly hopeful about it. It's really gonna suck if there is no way to resolve this
I just wish it had worked out, to start off with. I can return the cards if I have to... (Wedding & Basic Shapes 3) But I don't know about the $200 on the slice & mat. My LSS doesn't do returns usually past 7 days. Thanks again

Re: Help!! Slice
Sorry to hear your Slice doesn't work well. I don't know what's up with Making Memories lately but their stuff seems to be second rate. Myself and a friend purchased the Making Memories Acrylic Stamp Storage Binder and we had to use a glue gun on the darn thing to put it back together! The whole inside fell apart - on both of them!! I did a search online and lots of other people were complaining about the same thing. Wouldn't be so alarmed if it was a "no name" brand but Making Memories???? Not good.
Anyway, back to SCAL........First Rate! LOL

Hi, i don't know what you ended up doing. But mine wasn't working either and I sent it back. They recieved it and within 2 day I got a new one along with $60.00 worth of mm product for my inconvenience. Since then the machine has worked great. the company really worked with me.
