card made with trellis and sunburst border

Here is a card that I made using the trellis and a sunburst border that I downloaded from I think this forum. I am sorry to who gave the border. I tried to find where it came from to give you credit but I couldn't find the original post. This is one of my favorite borders, so who ever share it, thanks so much.

Thanks Talanhart for adding the pictures to my file. HeatherM answered my post under General and gave me the info on how to post the pictures with my files next time I post. Also, I love all of your designs! I just love this forum. Everyone is so helpful and creative.

Well I learned a new lesson. Try to cut out your design before you post it. The lattice frame does not work. The whole thing comes out when you cut it. I am making a new card that has the trellis without the frame. I will post the new card here as soon as I correct my design flaw. Sorry! See I told you I am still learning. Kim

congratulations You made a beautiful card.
Pls dont mind if you made a little mistake...it happens to all of us learning Inkscape&SCAL.

Thanks so much for fixing my mistake. It is perfect. I tried for about an hour to figure out how to fix it. I also tried to make a new one and got so frustrated that I gave up. Do you mind telling me how you fixed it so that I will know what to do in the future? I have tried to ungroup and start over but I never could get it to work. I will definitely do a test cut before I post any more designs.

I´m glad you like it. Sorry if I was so invasive getting your design and changing it. It was made with my best intentions, believe me.
Of course I can try to explain to you how I made that but please bear with my poor English since it´s not my native language.
After I opened your design...I select it all ...them went to menu and copy it...created a new layer behind the original design and pasted it on this new layer. After that I ungroup it many times checking the lower IS bar until there were no group to be ungrouped. After that I have broken the original design...and separated the big retangle from the tiny pieces. Changed big retangle´s color and its intensity to a very pale tone so I could see all original design trough it keeping the eye´s layer opened. All the tiny pieces had their color changed the same way.....then I combined them and dragged them so that each piece were exactly over
their copy in the new layer design....close the new layer´s eye...then selected the big retangle+the tiny pieces over it... went to the menu> path> exclude....voila.... all the cut out shapes were done.
Hope I have had clear enough.
