CUT IMAGE IN HALF

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SLICE AN IMAGE DOWN THE MIDDLE IN INKSCAPE?
TRYING TO MAKE A CARD,THREE FOLD WITH HALF THE IMAGE ON BOTH SIDES.

Make your image a size that is easily divided in half. Draw a rectangle taller than your image. Resize using the toolbar to exactly half the width of your image. Select the rectangle and the image, then use the align tools and make sure that your image is within the rectangle on the top and bottom, then align on the left or right. From the menu, Path/Division. You may need to combine pieces within the halves.

I changed the steps slightly, because I didn't mention selecting both the image and the rectangle before aligning and Path/Division.

PLEASE HELP Does this only work when you draw in inkscape?how do you do this when you just import image?

You could also import the image into SCAL and make the box like in Ink, but you don't have the alignment tools in SCAL, so you would have to eyeball it and the box would cut too. I sent you a PM.

GOT THAT ,BUT WON'T WORK ON SVG FILE

If you are importing an svg file into ink to be split in half, you will need to select the image and go to object/ungroup before you follow the other steps or it will not work.
