Re: Down loading SVG
I am wondering the same thing. I want to know where all the fonts, dingbats, and svg images need to be saved to. I bought a companion disc to my SCAL, and can't figure out how to use the darn thing. I was hoping to enjoy my weekend off, playing with my new toy...but, I haven't cut one thing!!! I can't figure out how to use it!!! Grrrr....Rockin Robin

After you have saved any .svg files that you like, you have to IMPORT them into the SCAL program. If the file ends in .scut you can just OPEN it. I find it easiest to save them on a memory stick or external hard drive because you will get alot! As far as fonts go...you have to INSTALL them thru your computer so that they would show up in Microsoft Word or wherever fonts are used, then they will be available in SCAL also. HTH

Re: Down loading SVG
pitaw, the files may be going to a default download folder somewhere on your computer. do a search for "download" or for the filename of one of the files you tried to download and see where the computer is putting it.

Pitaw, what web browser are you using? Internet explorer prompts you for a location to save to. Google chrome defaults to a location, but can be set to download to whatever folder you want. I'm not familiar with Firefox, so can't tell you how/where it downloads.pitaw wrote:HELP!!!! I went to Sure Cuts A Lot and was trying to download some of the SVG files. How do I do that. You need to know where you want to store your files, and create your own organization for them. A lot of us use a folder with subfolders much like the forum. The important thing is to know where they are on your computer.

Mine are going onto my desktop, but then how to I get them into SCAL? I can get the fonts into SCAL but not the dingbats. It tells me it can't save because it is not a font.

Re: Down loading SVG
Dingbats are fonts. Fonts are usually zipped files. You need to unzip them and then install them in your fonts folder. ScrappingTable.com has some nice tutorials here. http://www.scrappingtable.com/understandingfonts.html
