SVG IMPORTING INTO SCAL UPSIDE DOWN

Post by yensid74 »

Don't know why, but I have a couple of SVG's that when I import them into SCAL they import upside down. I tried flipping them over in Inkscape, thinking they might import right side up, but no luck.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas how to fix this.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Elizabeth

Check for groups. Control A, then look at your message bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window. It should not list any groups, just paths. If if lists groups, ungroup (Object/Ungroup) until just paths are listed. SCAL does not correctly interpret groups and does some weird things when that command is used. HTH

There are some times when this just seems to happen for no apparent reason. I think some programs put the svgs out this way all the time, too. I think it has to do with conflicting svg standards or something. It is disconcerting, but makes no difference since you are cutting it out and can turn the cutout any way you want when you are done. If it really bothers you, or if you need to combine it with something else once you get in SCAL, you can just use flip and/or rotate commands in SCAL to get it back in the right orientation.

I had this happen once. I opened an SVG I created and everything was way off to the right. I open it in Ink and it's fine. I ended up cutting one piece at a time.

Thanks for the help...I completely forgot about the ability to rotate the svg on SCAL. I have rotated my image and all is well.

Thanks again :D
