able to manipulate the mat angle

Post by witelite »

I'd like to be able to be able to turn the virtual mat so that the little dark green arrow is pointed toward the top of the screen instead of toward the left.

Me too! Can I tell you how many cuts I've botched because I don't flip it properly in my mind? I have learned to hold my mat up side by side with my monitor to ensure I have my paper placed correctly.

Having the mat present with the arrow at the top kind of makes more sence anyway. Funny though, this is a boy/girl thing. Girls most often want to move the map to the direction they are going (if they are going west, then west is up) and boys lgeneraly ike north pointing up, no matter which way they are going.
Same with the mats. We put the mat in arrow up, so to us the view of the mat should be arrow up.
This is probably why i like my cricut on the left of my computer so It feeds arrow to the left (like the display on the moniter).

Hi All,
Yep, i agree. i turned the Expression itself. It is placed to the left of my MBP. rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise. i now load it in from the right instead of from the front. and this was the Mat in SCAL is the same. it works every time now. when i place things and want to cut on a certain area of the Mat.

I guess I never really thought about the virtual mat loading sideways instead of at the top, because I use a 24" mat most of the time and it would really throw me off if the mat did load from the top. Maybe my thinking would be different with a smaller machine.
