Question - Inkscape Paintbucket Fill & Stroke

Post by kelsie94 »

I have been playing around in Inkscape - watching all the tutorials on paintbucket, etc. - but I just can't get the Fill & Stroke to work. It's because I don't understand HOW to get it to work, not that there's something wrong with Inkscape!

I can open the Fill & Stroke box but then I'm lost. I really have no clue what to do next. I played around with it (blindly) but whenever I click away from the box I lose what I've chosen. :?

Are there some simple steps to understanding this?

Many thanks.

It doesn't seem to work intuitively but here's what I do. click on a swatch at the bottom of the screen to set the fill. shift click on a swatch to set the stroke. Use the window to choose flat fill for both (the gray square0 and make sure it is not transparent. You have to set the stroke and fill separately for each tool also.
