waving hello - total newbie checking in.
(disclaimer - I also post at 2peas, but I didn't come from there if you know what I mean so no stones okay!)
anyway, if any of you have a Wishblade and remember when CraftRobo machines first came on the market, the situation with PC and the SCA should sound eerily familiar. Wishblade/Xyron did their best to scare off consumers of the CraftRobo machines, and always managed a way to charge their customers for something that the CraftRobo customers got as a freebie (remember, its the same machine - just the software is different). Now there's the Silhouette and yet again, QK has manipulated the software so that any designs can't be shared between all the other machines.
These companies just don't get it. They can't see beyond their nose on their faces to the big picture. And PC is no different than Xyron was - they think by huffing and puffing that everyone will follow the corporate line and not question their knowledge. The only problem is that you know full well that they had the technology to do exactly what Todd has done, but they (just like Xyron back in its cartridge days with WB) are more worried about the cartridges they have to sell.
Their designs are creative and original - their cartridges will sell - the machines will SELL ... but having SCA is sorta like having the frosting on the cupcake too
