I just downloaded, and still have not connected the cricut up yet, scared I think.
I know it can cut fonts and things, but people are saying it will cut any image, but none from your cartridges
So say I found a picture I wanted to cut, would I be able to layer it in pieces or just have to do the cut all in one and then use a knife to seperate? I dont think I am making sense anymore, lol sorry,
Is there somewhere, ( all in the one spot) to read the basics on how and what you can do? It feels like I have been reading bits and bobs and I am still none the wiser lol
Is there a book for dummies, like Just beginning

Hi shaZZa
I would advise small steps and keep it simple. Especially if you have never worked with a graphics program before.
I would look at these tutorials first to get used to SCAL
http://www.craftedge.com/tutorials/tutorials.html
Tracing bit maps (pictures) can be a little tricky but not impossible. All depends on the quality of the image you are trying to trace. (does it have fuzzy edges or not)
There is some good instructions and videos around on how to do this
Check out

http://www.scrappydew.com/tutorials/
http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/2009 ... -inkscape/
Susan also has some very good tutorials on her site. It is a must to check out
http://susanbluerobot.blogspot.com/
Hope that helps.
Remember though start off simple. Small steps.
Cheers

Oh a girl after my own heart, i have had my machine for over a year, with three carts, but they bored me, so my other half treated me to Scal and i've spent the past 4 days getting used to it,and spent the evenings reading here for hints and tips, and when i find something that will help me i've printed off that page and then gone through it step by step and this helps immensly,
good luck and hopefully we'll both be making masterpieces like the rest of them on here, good luck.

I'd like to see an instruction manual or a book for dummies or beginners like me.
Maybe one of the ppl that is really good at SCAL will get in contact with "the dummies" series books and the SCAL ppl and get a book out there for us.
