You should have no problem cutting either one of those files.

The stick figure file will cut twice the way it is. You have 2 sets of images stacked on top of each other. When I open it in Ink there are groups which can cause problems, but didn't this time. Did you use AI? I think both the stacking and the grouping are functions of AI-Ink compatibility and quirks.

Yes I saw the two images stacked on each other. I create the images in Coreldraw and then convert them to svg. Here is the boy redone.

Hi, I downloaded the first "boy" .svg file and imported it into SCAL. I then clicked on "preview" and the image is grey, not red. This indicates that SCAL is not reading the image and will not cut.

I opened the image in Inkscape and did a Path/object to path and saved it and imported that file into Inkscape.

See the difference in the picture? The red lines cut. I don't know how you would make a path out of the image in Coral but someone will be along soon to tell you ;)

Nice image and well worth fooling with.

Papasue, the preview in SCAL also shows gray when you have overlapping lines. I did cut the first boy and it cut fine, twice. :D

I think I posted something in the wish list a while back about having a third color for overlapping lines so that you can tell what won't cut and what will cut twice.

Thanks Heather,

I didn't know that. That's why we share. How did you see the overlap???? I don't know how to do that either.

I found out about it a while back when working with some files I got from somewhere else. Open the file in Ink. This one has Object/Group so you need to ungroup it. Then you can move one off to the side and delete one. Your way had less steps though. :D

Pretty much when you have a file that looks good in Ink, but the preview in SCAL shows gray you should suspect stacked images and look at the file in Ink to see if that is the case.
