I know this is posted somewhere but couldn't find it...is self adhesive shelf paper just as good as cutting on cricut as the vinyl that is sold by cricut...just wonder...no stores here in this small town except a small walmart...wanted to cut out nother pattern for etching glass...thanks !! Judy

Yes, it is just as good. All you need is a tight seal on the edges so the etching cream doesn't leak under. I use clear contact paper because it is easier to see when I am positioning the stencil on the glass but any color will do.

Contact paper works well, make sure you get the permanent or strong hold. Contact paper now also comes in repositional. But then maybe you want to be able to reposition it.

thanks !! I ran to our Wal Mart and no contact paper..the dollar store has some that is pretty thin..not near as thick as the cricut vinyl....will try l little on some small pieces of glass....no clear paper...but that is a very good idea...thanks !!!!
