what is skewing?

Ok, i'm confused what is the skewing option for. I hate to sound dumb, but I don't know.

It's a way to shift the shape of something. For instance, you type a qord "RUN" in block letters then you can skew the outline so the letters look like they are dragging behind a really fast runner, not rotated, but actually "skewed".

The best way to see what it does is type a word in any font and click skew and then you can see exactly how it will cut afterwards if you don't like it don't save it.

Skewing will also make your words look italic when used at a small degree (same as slanting in DSS).
