Post by justagirl1980 »

What is the best glue for scrapbooking with the cut out shapes?

I usually use a Zig glue pen (ball point or chisel tip). I use the ball point pen on the small pieces and the chisel tip or tape runner on large pieces.

O.k, I'll try that! I was using mini glue dots, but they are getting all over everything!

I 2nd the Zig Glue Pen. It's perfect for those small things too! I see Sakura has a glue pen out now too. Haven't tried that one yet though.

For small images or words, I use Heat and Bond. Iron it to the back of your paper, take the backing paper off and run it thru your Cricut. Then iron the image on your scrapbook page or card. Works like a dream with no glue residue. I live in the desert and haven't found anything that will stay stuck except for Heat and Bond. Zig won't stay stuck either. I have had some success with 3-m glue.

I couldn't live without my xyron, I have the 1" Create a sticker that works great for lettering, etc. and then I have the 2 1/2 inch sticker maker. I buy the xyron refills when they are on sale at HL, MIchaels, or Joanns.

For paper to paper I use zig, for picture to paper I use the two sided sticky squares, just because later I know they are in the corners if I need to remove the 'original' picture (something I don't have the negative or .jpg for). I still don't know how everyone sticks paper to paper well enough to not use a page protector, but then again that may just be my own paranoia.

I have the Sakura Glue pen and LOVE it. Nice smooth and fine lines, great for small pieces or adding glitter in exact spots.

Linda,
I was wondering how you got away with that technique without your paper curling and then I saw that you live in the desert and it makes sense. That would never work where I live, I keep all my paper sealed in plastic and still have humidity issues whenever heat meets paper...but at least our glue sticks!
