Positioning SCAL

I looked thorough the forum and didn't see this but please forgive me if it's here and I missed it. When you lay out something in SCAL how do you get the cutting blade to begin where you want it to? With the cartridges, you would move the blade to the start of the color you want to cut, but I am not sure how to do this in SCAL?

SCAL cuts on the mat just like on your computer screen (with some margin of error). So you place your paper on the real mat in the same places that you put your design on the virtual mat.
