limit on fonts??

good morning,
i have a question....is there a limit as to how many fonts can be in your SCAL font tab when SCAL is opened? My problem is that there are many more TTF's in my actual "Font" folder in windows. I downloaded a few really nice ones this morning, however when SCAL is opened...Boo they are not there....any help will be greatly appreciated...Tinks

Sometimes they are listed under a different name with the initials of the font creator listed before the font name. So...scroll down...it is probably there...just not how you thought it would be...hope that makes sense. EX: KJtags1 You may think you just downloaded tags1, but it has KJ in front of it. Hope this helps. When you save the font, make sure you take note of the name it is saving as.

hi suzy, thanks for the advice..i downloaded Silhaus old fashion font..it is the one that has wonderful silhottes, IE bot fishing with dog under a tree..I have searched every font under my font tab in SCAl..alas, I can not find it...what a bother...

I think the name is "SilhousOldfashion". I was just looking at mine this morning. Can you see the font from another program such as Word? That would tell you whether your system sees it in the correct place. If you cannot choose the font from Word, I would download it again and copy it into the Fonts folder (however is correct for your operating system). Out of curiosity, how many fonts (about) do you have?

hello, as for fonts..I have 1,364 in my font folder located in windows, however, i do not have the same when I open SCAL...SilhousOldfashion is in my font folder in windows, however i do not have it in SCAL..isn't that odd? Laura

I think you should look at getting a Font Manager program. All those fonts in your windows/fonts takes up valuble resources when windows loads

Sounds like this is not your problem, but I'll post it here in case it affects someone else. My fonts window goes A to Z and then has a handful of names at the end not in alphabetical order. Sometimes when I am sure of the name I think it isn't there because it doesn't show up in the alphabetical list, but when I scroll to the end I can find it there. Go figure.
