I just discovered SCAL today and i have been trying for hours to download the trial so i can make sure it works for me before i buy it. I can not get the file to install. I have downloaded the file setupsurecutsalot_1016.1.2DOD12.efw. Ifound out that i need to change the extension to zip. I unziped the package but i cant figure what to do with the files. What actually makes the software run? There is not and exe file for me to run to open the program and i have not found any information that tells me what to do. Please help me , i am so excited about the idea of this software working for me. Thanks.

Re: help from the beginning
Forget the trial version and just go for it. You won't regret it. Also download Inkscape for free from Inkscape"s web site and the sky will be the limit. Are you going to use it for cards and scrapbooking? You will never need to buy another cartridge. Check out Susan Bluerobot and she has all sorts of lessons plus everyone on the forum is so helpful and downloads SCAL files to share with the rest of us. I don't think there is a mean or nasty member of this forum. Everyone wants to help. If you do sucessfully download the trial version, after your first cut you will want to buy. Remember on the trial version, three extra lines will cut across your pattern. You will love SCAL and never look back.
Re: help from the beginning
I finally figured what I was doing wrong. The file extension is efw from the site. I looked online and it said to change the extension to *.zip. What i really needed to do it to change the extension to *.exe. This let me install the trial version with no problem. So now i know that it works with my circut i and get the full version. Thanks for your advice.
