Something I have been playing with for the last couple of days.
Designed it all directly in SCAL and got it bound at the local stationery supply shop.

Re: A new wordbook
That is gorgeous! I hope that I'll learn enough about SCAL and Inkscape to make wordbooks.

Re: A new wordbook
I haven't got to do the inside of this yet - more of an experiment to get two lots of letters on each page.
But if you have a look at my post for Grandpa's wordbook I made
http://forums.surecutsalot.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2251
you will see the inside of the pages.
My take on word books is that they are photo albums or scrapbook albums that you can put photos and journalling but they fit with the theme of the name or title of the book - so "Christmas" would have christmas photos etc in it.
My "Grandpa" one has photos through the ages of my niece's grandpa - which fits with the title of the wordbook.
I also made 3 identiical ones for another niece which just said "Best Friends" - for her and her 2 best friends. I left the pages blank inside (except for a few stickers and borders) and left it to them to do what they wanted inside the books - they could put photos in it, write things about each other in it or whatever they liked.

Re: A new wordbook
Btails thanks very much for your comments. What I do over here is use two layers of standard cardstock. I don't have anything thicker. So I cut the page twice in cardstock and glue them together. Then I cut the design in the paper I want - back and front and glue them on to the now thicker cardstock and then I have the completed page. Remember to put the paper you are using for the backs of the pages upside down on your cricut mat as you nee dit to cut out in reverse.

Wow Raewyn, that is some book. Looks like you put a lot of work into it. It should be a masterpiece when it's completed. Your g-pa one was great. TFS

Re: A new wordbook
pastda3 - thank you very much.
I would like to say the big one was very difficult and time consuming - but I can't - SCAL just makes it too easy

Raewyn, I love your books. I am very new at this and I have been using yours as a guide to make one for my kids.
What is the width of your first page?
How wide does it need to be to accomodate the binding?
Thanks so much for being such an inspiration.
