Hello~
I’ve been seriously considering buying the Sure Cuts A Lot software but am having some second thoughts after reading the forum. I’m not very computer literate and after seeing some of the problems you all have been having, I’m wondering if I could make it work for me.
It does appear that the tech support is good but I don’t understand some of the “computerese” such as SVG, math vectors and inkscape to name a few of the tech terms. Have most of the bugs and glitches been worked out? Thank you for any and all insights.

Re: SHOULD I BUY SURE CUTS A LOT SOFTWARE?
Hello Madam
Firstly Id say there are "no problems that cant be solved" and that is why we have this forum
Think postively
1. you will be able to use SCAL to cut fonts and shapes and never have to by a font catridge again.
2. scal is easy to use and there are 1000's of already made svg format that you can use directly in scal, some have been made by the wonderful people on this forum
3. Inkscpae that we use to convert/construct are own cutting files is like any other software it takes time to learn BUT the basics are well covered by tutorials.
Welcome to the forum I hope you will consider scal.

I agree, SCAL is a great program, it is worth the time to read up and learn inkscape too. I'm frustrated right now with a problem but I posted here and I know I'll get help soon, the ladies and gents here are awesome to work with!
Re: SHOULD I BUY SURE CUTS A LOT SOFTWARE?
Thank you for your replies ... I have continued reading the forum and am very impressed with all the suggestions, tips, solutions, etc. I think I will take the "plunge" and buy the software based on the tech support and knowledge I've found on this site.
With appreciation,

Glad we could help

Re: SHOULD I BUY SURE CUTS A LOT SOFTWARE?
Do I have to buy inkscape in order to use SCAL? I haven't bought SCAL yet I am just trying to figure all this out myself.
Re: SHOULD I BUY SURE CUTS A LOT SOFTWARE?
Nope. Inkscape is a free program that you can download to make svg's in.. You don't have to have it to run SCAL. In fact I haven't ever used it. I use SCAL but I haven't ever tried to use inkscape yet...Hope this helps..
Re: SHOULD I BUY SURE CUTS A LOT SOFTWARE?
Thanks it does help. So is SCAL mostly used for fonts or can I use it for actual objects as well? Is that what a dingbat is? Sorry for the questions but I am new to all this.
