Inkscape - jpg to svg

I converted a .jpg to .svg in Inkscape but when I open in SCAL the box is empty.

Any tips?

I *LOVE* your cupcake. Beautiful job, and I saw your website too. You do some beautiful work. Is there some way to download the cupcake? What a great idea about scanning a stamp, too. I just bought SCAL tonight so I'm very very new to this.
