Is there a tutorial on how to make a card with words on the side for SCAL?---like the congratulations card in the new infomercial?
If not, could someone tell me how to do this, please?
Thanks!!!
Making a card with words on the side?
Re: Making a card with words on the side?
Hi, I just did my thank you cards all in SCAL. I didn't do a tut on it but I think if you look at the mat layout you can figure it out.
1. You make a rectangle using the shapes menu, CLICK on WELD. You have to figure out the size you want the card and leave about 1 to 1 1/2" on the right hand side for letters
2. Type each letter separately (pick a size for the letters, it will depend on how many letters you want to fit.) So you will need to play around with sizes depending.
3. Then move the letter overlapping the edge of the rectangle. Click WELD (I also SHADOW these letters)
Do this with all the letters you want down the edge
NOTE: some will say do the letters first then draw the rectangle, that might work easier, but I do it this way.
Check "preview" to ensure that all the letter are welded to the rectangle. The RED lines will cut the grey lines will not, that's what you are looking for. I've attached a pic of what it should look like in preview
Then type the whole word in "exactly" the same size as the ones you made. These will be cut separately and glued over the shadowed ones.
Of course you don't need this last step if you want the letters to be the same color and depth as the card. You also then don't need to shadow the attached letters.
Hope this gives you a start.
