drawing square around brand for cutting lines

HI All...been about 3 yrs or better...but back...long story....OK can't remember how to draw a square around an item so it will cut that line too ...or to cut out the square..use to could do it but don't even know what to click on to get started...have brand on page and traced bit map and got rid of image..stuck can anyone please help ? thanks so much ! oh in INkscape got the file downloaded but have it ready in inkscape

ok got square drawn around it but need to combine them together..wow it is coming back

Geeez, by the time I got here to help you had it! happy it is all coming Back! So nice to have you here again. Are you still on scal2 or have you upgraded cutter and software?
